Lomonosov Moscow State University

Lomonosov Moscow State University is rightfully considered to be the oldest Russian University. It was founded in 1755. The establishment of a University in Moscow became possible thanks to the work of the outstanding scientist-encyclopedist, the first Russian academician Mikhail Lomonosov. At the present time Lomonosov Moscow State University comprises 15 research institutes, 42 faculties, more than 300 sub-faculties and 5 branches. Lomonosov MSU has at its disposal more than 600 buildings, including the Main Building on Sparrow Hills. The development of the university campus on the other side of Lomonosovsky Avenue began with the construction of the Intellectual Center with the main library, Shuvalov and Lomonosov buildings, as well as the Department of Fundamental Medicine and university-preparatory school.

The program at the territory of Lomonosov MSU is under discussion to select the visiting sites that might be included (e.g., Historic museum, Supercomputing center, Laser center, Nanotechnology center, Department of the Fundamental Medicine).

Moscow

Moscow is the main city of the Russian State, the political, economic, cultural and scientific center of the country. The founder of Moscow is the Rostov-Suzdal Prince Yuri Dolgoruky, and the first mention of Moscow in Chronicles dates back to 1147. Many of the most valuable history and architectural monuments of world importance are concentrated here: the Kremlin, Red Square, Novodevichy Convent and the Church of the Ascension in Kolomenskoye are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The reconstructed Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on Kropotkinskaya Embankment became the city's main Cathedral. Numerous city parks are always ready to offer their guests an interesting and healthy recreation.

The cultural program is under discussion to select among plenty of possibilities (e.g., Moscow Kremlin museums, Palaces of the czars, Tsaricino Ensemble, Kuskovo Mansion).
