Events Scope

The conference organizers are inviting proposals for satellite events to be organized in conjunction or included into the conference program. The goal is to provide a place for in-depth discussion of specific topics in the broad scope of the major conference (DAMDID/RCDL’2018). For the list of topics see the conference call for papers. The following types of satellite events will be considered:

A brief description of the event types is provided below. The event organizers may wish to consult conference organizers in oder to find out what type of event suites their goals. Symmetrically, conference organizers will ask for adjustments of proposals to make sure the satellite events are in line with conference standards and requirements.

Proposal Submission

A proposal for a satellite event should contain the following:

  1. Indication of event type and duration
  2. The title of the event
  3. Expected number of participants
  4. Short description of the event, including aims and scope, list of topics and relationship to the topics of the main conference (up to 2 pages)
  5. Organizers (names, e-mail, affiliations), for workshops at least 3 persons from at least 2 different organizations
  6. Tentative program committee (if applicable)

Each proposal must be submitted via e-mail to any PC co-chair of the conference.

The final type of satellite event may differ from one specified in the proposal. The event organizers are encouraged to contact PC co-chairs of the conference prior to proposal submission deadline and are expected to be open for changes recommended by the co-chairs.

The organizers of the satellite events are fully responsible for reviewing process (if applicable) and the event program.

Papers for all satellite events should be formatted in accordance with the conference paper rules. The size of the papers should not exceed 8 pages. The proceeding of all satellite events will be published electronically, papers selected by the PC co-chairs of the conference will be submitted for publication in CEUR Workshop Proceedings. More details to these general rules can be added during acceptance of a satellite event submission.

Organizational Issues

The budget of satellite events will be integrated with the main conference budget. This implies that

  • There will be no separate registration for workshops or other satellite events, all conference participants will be eligible to attend all workshops, and
  • All organizers and participants of the satellite events must register for the main conference.
  • Any discounts or support for invited lecturers is up to organizers of the main conference except for dedicated funding from sources other than conference budget.

The local organizers of the conference will provide basic facilities for satellite events (such as rooms, projector, refreshments, etc.) Any special requirements must be negotiated and agreed with local organizers at least one month prior to the event.
